The VELA Tango 600ES is an activity and school chair intended for children and young people. These chairs increase the independence and mobility of the user whilst providing maximum comfort and support at home, special schools and in mainstream education. The VELA Tango 600ES has a unique braking system and electric height adjustment, which provides the user with a stable seat at the right height and creates the best possible conditions for social interaction and learning.

The VELA Tango 600ES supports activities and learning at school and at home:

Stepless, electric height adjustment provides a gentle and safe adjustment for children and young people with reduced function in the legs and back, or conditions such as muscular dystrophy, restricted growth, juvenile arthritis or cerebral palsy
The accessible brake and electric height adjustment enable the user to get into and out of the chair at low heights on their own
Comes with a contoured seat as standard (available in four sizes) and an ‘E’ backrest (available in several sizes and versions)

VELA Tango 600ES accessories

Cover for E1-/E2-/E3-/E4-seat - fabric
A loose, fabric top cover for the seat, which protects the seat cover from dirt and wear, and is particularly convenient if the chair is used at mealtimes and for reuse. The cover is breathable, hygienic and washable, and can easily be removed and washed in the washing machine. Available in several colours and fabric types, and for different seat types and sizes.

E2 seat
E2 seat(W:32xD:35 cm). This customised chair seat is particularly suitable for children. The seat is padded and has light side support at each side. At the back of the seat there is a “reservoir” of foam which can be replaced and turned so the child achieves optimum stability in the sitting position.

E3 seat
E3 seat (B:36xD:43 cm). This is a customised chair seat particularly suitable for children. The seat is padded and has light side support at each side. At the back of the seat there is a “reservoir” of foam which can be replaced or turned so the child achieves optimum stability in the sitting position.

E4 seat
E4 seat (W:40xD:47 cm). This is a customised chair seat particularly suitable for children. The seat is padded and has light side support at each side. incontinence E1-/E2-/E3-/E4-seat - incontinence
A loose, waterproof incontinence cover made of plastic for seats. This cover is suitable for users who spill a lot at mealtimes or suffer from incontinence. The cover is breathable, hygienic and washable, and can easily be removed and washed in the washing machine. Available in several colours and fabric types, and can be fitted over various seat types and seat sizes.

Loose fabric cover for backrest: A loose cover for the backrest which is hygienic, comfortable and washable, and can easily be removed and washed in the washing machine. The cover is available in several different colours and types of fabric, and is suitable for different types and sizes of backrest.

E1-Backrest
E1 backrest (W:22xH:18 cm). Has a padded back with sliding bolt fixture for setting the precise angle of the backrest, which is especially suitable for children. The height, depth and angle of the backrest can be adjusted so the child gets as much support as possible without restricting the options for an active sitting posture.

E2 backrest
E2 backrest (W:26xH:26 cm). The backrest has a high, padded back with sliding bolt fixture for setting the precise angle of the backrest, which is especially suitable for children. The height, depth and angle of the backrest can be adjusted so the child gets as much support as possible without restricting the options for an active sitting posture.

E3 backrest
E3 backrest (W:28xH:35 cm). The backrest has a high, padded back with sliding bolt fixture for setting the precise angle of the backrest, which is especially suitable for children. The height, depth and angle of the backrest can be adjusted so the child gets as much support as possible without restricting the options for an active sitting posture.

ES3-Backrest
ES3 backrest, (W:32xH:37 cm) (distance between side guides: 20cm). Has a padded back with integrated side guides, which are especially suitable for children. The back cushion has soft, supportive side supports, which control the child at the waist. The height, depth and angle of the back cushion can be adjusted so the child gets as much support as possible in the sitting position. It is possible to fit a head support.

ES4-Backrest
ES4 backrest, (W:37xH:43 cm) (Distance between side guides: 24cm). Has a padded back with integrated side guides, which are especially suitable for children. The back cushion has soft, supportive side supports, which control the child at the waist. The height, depth and angle of the back cushion can be adjusted so the child gets as much support as possible in the sitting position. It is possible to fit a head support.

ES5-Backrest
ES5 backrest, (W:43xH:46 cm) (Distance between side guides: 28 cm).Has a padded back cushion with integrated side guides, which are especially suitable for children. The back cushion has soft, supportive side supports, which control the child at the waist. The height, depth and angle of the back cushion can be adjusted so the child gets as much support as possible in the sitting position. It is possible to fit a head support.

Ergon armrest - 8x26cm
Ergon armrest (W:8xL:26 cm) and armrest bar (31 cm). A standard armrest bar with short, rounded, narrow pad.

Ergon armrest - 8x26cm - extra long
Extra long armrest bar (41 cm long). Beneficial for tall people. The armrest bar allows for the armrests to be used as support, e.g. when getting into or out of the chair.

HH-armrest
HipHop armrest with pad (W:6xL:21 cm), height-adjustable (11-20 cm). The armrest is suitable for children who need the armrests close to their body, e.g. for extra stability for activities and transfer.

HipHop armrest, curved inwards, with pad (W:6xL:21 cm), height-adjustable (11-20 cm). The inwards curved armrest is suitable for children who need the armrests close to their body, e.g. for extra stability for activities and transfer.

4-wheel brake
A 4-wheel brake frame is suitable for users who are very restless, or if the chair is standing on an uneven surface. The frame ensures optimal braking on all four wheels, even if the chair is on an uneven surface.

Brake pedal
The brake pedal can be used instead of a brake lever or together with a brake lever. The brake pedal is located on the back of the chair and is foot-operated. The pedal is an advantage if a standing person has to brake the chair without unnecessary bending or compromising postures. A brake pedal can be an advantage when using a push handle.

Electric brake kit
An electric brake, operated using an easily accessible flip switch. This brake is suitable for users who are unable to operate a brake stick. An electric brake can help to ensure the user is as independent as possible – an advantage for carers as well as the user. The electric brake is available for the 2-wheel as well as the 4-wheel brake frame.

Extension to the brake stick
An extension to the brake stick is an advantage for the user in a high sitting position or where the user has difficulties reaching a standard length brake stick.

T-brake grip
The T-brake lever extends the brake lever, making it easier for people with disabilities, e.g. in the shoulders, to reach the brake.

Wider front castors
Front castors (100 mm) with 3,1cm wide lanes are suitable when VELA Tango chair is used e.g. on a tile floor, floor with large joints or uneven floor. Due to the wide castors, the chair can run easier when you push the chair forwards or move around in the chair e.g. on narrow joints in the tile floor.

Foot and ankle harnesses
Foot and ankle harnesses in three sizes: small, medium and large. The harnesses are soft and the length can be adjusted under the footplate. Particularly suitable for children who find it difficult to keep their feet on the footplate. Can be removed and washed in the washing machine.

S footrest 20 degrees with fold-out LP plate
S footrest with fold-out LP plastic plate. The S footrest is fitted to the seat, and travels with the seat when it is height-adjusted, giving the user good support for the feet.
Available in two sizes with 20 degree angle:
W:283xD:275 mm with adjustable length 26-41 cm
W:283xD:245 mm with adjustable length 21-31 cm

S footrest with fold-out LP plastic plate
S footrest with fold-out LP plastic plate. The S footrest is fitted to the seat, and travels with the seat when it is height-adjusted, giving the user good support for the feet.
The LP plate is available in 3 sizes:
LP.20 plate - size 283x245 mm
LP.25 plate - size 335x250 mm
LP.27 plate - size 283x275 mm
The desired LP plate can be mounted on two different lengths:
Base with adjustable length 21-31 cm
Base with adjustable length 26-41 cm
LP plate and base are chosen taking into account the user's measures and needs

S footrest with S-plate
S footrest with 20 degree angle and fold-out plastic plate. The S footrest is fitted to the seat, and travels with the seat when it is height-adjusted, giving the user good support for the feet.
Available in two sizes:
W:296xD:225 mm with adjustable length 26-41 cm
W:296xD:225 mm with adjustable length 21-31 cm

Head support HH with pad
Head support HH with pad (W:17.5xH:9 cm). Made of washable leather for fitting on high backrests. The height, depth and angle of the head support can be adjusted so that the child achieves optimum support for the head and neck.

H seat belt
H seat belt, sternum-shoulder with binding lock in three sizes: small, medium and large. The seat belt controls the child’s body and provides stability in the sitting position. The seat belt straps are soft and can be washed in the washing machine.

Lock for Y seat belt with press lock
Lock for Y seat belt with press lock. Suitable for seat belts which the child should not be able to open themselves, e.g. for safety reasons.

Pelvi lap belt
Pelvi lap belt, available in four sizes: XSmall, Small, Medium and Large. This belt is suitable for children as well as adults who require a very supportive lap belt. The Pelvi belt provides optimum support and reduces the risk of the user sliding forwards in the seat.

Two-point lap belt
Two-point lap belt with adjustable length and press lock (L:140 cm) or binding lock (L:115 or L95 cm) for users who require security, e.g. for outdoor driving at high speed. Can be washed in the washing machine.

Y seat belt
The Y seat belt is a 4-point lap belt with adjustable length. The seat belt isavailable with either a press lock or a binding lock. The seat belt can be removed and washed in the washing machine. Can be mounted with harness over the thigh or stomach.
Available in three sizes:
Small: W:3.8xL:128 cm
Medium W:3.8xL:138 cm
Large W:3.8xL:172 cm

Acrylic table AJ
Acrylic table AJ, (W:45xL:35 cm). The table is removable and its height, depth, width and angle can be adjusted. The table is fitted to a fixture on one side of the chair so that the fixture does not get in the way of the user operating the joystick.

Table
Table in acrylic with shallow lip. The table folds down and can be removed, and its height, depth and width adjusted to match the user’s sitting position. NB: The table rests on both armrests when fitted to the chair.

W:60xD:49 cm

Height and depth-adjustable push bar
Height and depth-adjustable push bar, which takes account of the carer’s work posture when having to transport a user in the chair over short distances. The height, depth and angle of the push bar can be easily adjusted to suit the person pushing the chair. Some users may also benefit from supporting themselves on a push bar when they walk around. The push bar is easy to remove.

Manually operated electric adjustment
Manually operated electric adjustment of seat height. Manual operation is useful when the chair is operated by healthcare staff or a personal carer. The spiral cable makes it possible to stand by the chair where it is most convenient for the patient and carer, when adjusting the height. Contact box can also be purchased with magnetic suspension.

Abduction block (l)
Abduction block, padded and adjustable (D:14xW:12xH:6 cm), controls the child’s legs and stops the child sliding forwards in the seat. It is suitable for children with cerebral palsy. The cushion is soft and easy to clean.

The lateral support can swivel to the side to allow for movement, and be fitted on different lateral support bars to suit the width of the body. Lateral supports can be used on high backrests.

Lateral support with small, curved PU cushion (W:6xL:17 cm). This lateral support is suitable for children who require stability at the sides and front. Its height, depth and width can be adjusted. The lateral support can swivel to the side to allow for movement, and be fitted on different lateral support bars to suit the width of the body. Lateral supports can be used on high backrests.

Side supports HH with padded cushions (l)
Side supports with padded cushions (L:25xW:7.5 cm),can be fitted to the armrest bar. Their height and lateral position can be adjusted: they support the child without limiting his or her activities.
